old highway 80 (pictures)
ana took a bunch of pictures of these:
here's a view from thew viewpoint i found on the 8 east.
the beginning of the "abandoned street." we walked down a bit past the curve and then creeped ourselves out and came back.
a stamp i found in the concrete. i don't know why but i really enjoy this.
here's google maps. ok. the street becomes closed about a fourth of the way in from the right. the little part that branches off to the bottom is unlabeled. and the street never actually re-attaches to the 8 freeway. i'm buying a bike just so i can go back and ride down the entire street.

That's awesome! I love things like that! It reminds me of the ridge route through Tejon Pass off of the 5. You can still drive the whole thing. It's pretty neat.
