THROWDOWN.
I was excited that something was actually happening. I anticipated that though, being a Sayid-centric episode.
Does it seem odd to anyone though that Dogen said he was a savvy bank owner in Osaka, but has all these crazy martial arts skills?
Not really. I have two good friends who are VERY good at martial arts. One is a graphic designer, and the other is a chief technology officer for a manufacturing company.
I was very pleased with how things went last night. They seemed to be trying to make us think the temple people were going to be important, then, KER-POW! Smoke monster and Sayid fuck them all up. And the losties seem to now be forming up on sides. Who is going to take what side?
I'm kinda surprised that Claire didn't kill Kate last night... and she even saved her by telling her it was safer down in the hole. Maybe they'll get to that later.
I think old smokey is gonna use Kate against Jack. That look he gave her at the end of the episode was really wierd.
Also, I'm really bummed out about Sayid losing it the way he did. I mean, he lost his shit, completely. And what happened to Jin and where is Sawyer?

I think Claire has something planned for her.

To me it looked like he was thinking to himself "Oh, you were in there? How come I didn't kill you? Oh well"
You can kinda tell what's happening on the island (taking sides, replacements for Jacob/Esau, crazy Claire...) but what's still way beyond me is figuring out how the alternate reality is going to tie in with everything.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am pumped up to see the next episode because its Ben-centric. Ben is totally gonna die. But its gonna be cool. Has to be. But he's still totally gonna die.
I cackled when he went to get Sayid and saw the look on his face. I love that he all "um...ok...I'll just...go..."

I don't think he's going to die next week. If he is, they fucking spoiled it by basically saying he was. That's not their style.

I'm just sayin'. He's gotta die.
I'm sure that a lot of folks will die before the show is over. I'm just saying that I think it will be a surprise every time it happens. What's the point of making the show so suspenseful up to this point and then saying "oh by the way, ben's gonna die next week."
seems anti-climatic to me.

You guys fucking SUCK. I was trying to skip through and skim over so I didn't catch anything important, and then I saw the whole "i'm surprised Claire didn't kill Kate" part, it's like RRTHGRHGHR NOW I KNOW THEY BUMP INTO EACH OTHER AT SOME POINT.
Then again, my bad, shouldn't have tried to skim.

yeah that's on you, lady... you shoulda known there'd be spoilers in here. still... it won't ruin the show too much.

They didn't outright say he was going to. It just seemed it was gonna be one of those "this character is going to redeem himself and repent" type episodes, and usually that happens when the character is gonna go.
I like how Smokey didn't outright tell Sayid he was going to do what he said. Also, didn't both Shannon and Nadia die in Sayid's arms?
I don't think there will be any redemption for Ben and I doubt he'll die before the end. He's going to do something nasty at some point that's going to be a holy shit moment. That's what I think.

agreed. After all, all they said was that he would be faced with death next week. I bet whatever shitty thing he does is done in order to avoid dying, and he will probably succeed.
