I haven't seen my Dad in about 8 years and he was supposed to come from Florida to see the baby next month ....... he's not coming. I should have learned by this time in my life not to get excited about this.

my dad died 6 months after madison was born (the day after xmas) and he never got to meet her. if that helps. ;)

He's just weak, when he remarried his wife wouldn't let him have anything to do with me. Then I had the first grand kid and they wanted to come out but alas my sister got pregnant so now it's probably not such a big deal.

bogus. When my dad got remarried, not only did he not want anything to do with me or my sister, but his wife didn't want anything to do with her kids either.

He didn't even tell me he got remarried. I had to find out about it from my coworker, who's uncle happened to work with my dad.

Man, dads kinda suck at being dads.

My dad is a rad dude, but I think I have had more conversations with the guy at EZ Mart than with my dad. No real reason. We just dont have anything to say. He's not particularly interested in anything I do.

I just don't really have a dad, he left when I was very young, he was a violent man, an alcoholic too.

He almost died a couple years back because his stomach, liver and kidnies failed. Apparently he was in a wheelchair and gave up drink for a while, I wanted to see him, but he dropped back off of the wagon and went back to his old self.

Dads who didn't want to live family lives, but reluctantly agreed to do it anyway are the ones that suck at being dads. My father-in-law is pretty good at it. I still have a hard time just being straight with the guy, because I'm always trying to figure out the angle. No angle... just wants to be my wife's dad.
