does anyone else's ears get eax build up to the point where it's seriously affecting your hearing? I've been getting it a lot lately in one ear. I bought some drops that foam up in your ear and make it incredibly itchy and make a crackling sound and went in after wards with a qtip only to find BLACK EAR WAX. GROSSED OUT MAN.
Pour hydrogen peroxide in your ear, and lay on your side for five to ten minutes. Then whack the other side of your head with the heel of your hand to get the wax out.
This is what the Navy docs did to me when my ears got all plugged up with wax one time.

THAT SHIT DOESN'T WORK FOR ME. I can hear better now. a lot better and the pressure is gone but I do think i need go get it checked out.
You can purchase ear candles at most health food stores, even some WFs carry them. It's pretty simple and inexpensive. Just be careful not to burn your hair. I had my roommate help me years ago when I tried it. However, it can also dry your ears out and cause some itching if you let it burn too much. The wax protects your ears, so be careful not to overdo it.
I was going to say something about the ear candles but they've pretty much been proven to be ineffective. All the crap they supposedly pull out of your ear is actually wax buildup from the ear candles.
Still, I tried them once and thought they helped.

If you do it, get a video. It's funny to watch. And cut a hole in a paper plate to catch all the crap that you don't want falling on your head.
Wait. I take that back. Make yourself a tinfoil helmet to protect you. it will be much cooler looking!

She needs a foil helmet. And why does she look like she is enjoying that so much. Damn spa ads. They make a Brazilian wax look like fun too.
I've never seen black earwax. Except from a cat.
I dump in peroxide, wait, flush with warm water, then repeat until new peroxide poured in doesn't fizz up. Then swab for the helluvit, 'cause it feels good to swab. I actually swab the moisture out after every shower and only use the peroxide every couple weeks or so.

DON'T do it yourself, you can drip wax onto your ear drum and cause problems, also, those tiny ear candles don't do shit, hence the bad reputation they get for being ineffective. I use King Cones and trust me, that shit ain't wax from the candle.

THIS WORKS. Navy knows their shit.
Ear candles are bullshit, folks. Hate to break the news to you. The wax in the candles after your done comes from... wait for it... the burning candle. In fact, FDA is about to come down hard on these guys because some of the claims they make are ridiculous.
The only thing that will safely take the wax out of your ears is peroxide and warm water. Get an ear bulb. Use it at least once or twice a month. Don't sweat a little wax in your ear if it's not affecting your hearing or balance. It's there to keep dust out of your ear. You'll build up more if you spend a lot of time in noisy and/or dirty environments. And don't use Q-tips, because they compact the wax. That's why it's black. It's been packed in there for a while, and it got moldy. Yes. Moldy.

Yeah, you're wrong, I know the difference between ear wax and the wax they dip the linen in...moron.
yes, I read the post. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings by pointing out that a product you use is fraudulent, but I wanted to inform the lady before she dropped money on something that wouldn't offer her any serious relief.

There just isn't enough suction to seriously remove any wax. In fact, it would take an unpleasant amount of suction to actually "suck" wax out of an ear canal. You'd rupture an eardrum. That's why doctors rinse ears out instead. If you seriously think that the hot air rising off of a hollow candle is enough air pressure to remove a hard waxy substance that's caked to the sides of your ear canal... well...
And it doesn't wick away either, because it's not a wax. It's actually cholesterol, dead skin cells, and sebum. Even if it was a real wax, to actually wick away the entire candle would need to burn down until all of the candle wax was either liquified or exhausted so that the ear wax could get taken up in the wick material. That would take forever... not to mention be extremely painful.
Call me a moron all you want, but it's bullshit.

| http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/...0?dopt=Abstract A survey of 122 otolaryngologists identified 21 ear injuries resulting from ear candle use. Ear candles have no benefit in the management of cerumen and may result in serious injury. |

Oh for Gods sake, you been laid lately? I've used them on myself and friends, I've seen what comes out of the specific cones I use, I know 90% are bogus, hence why I use the ones that work, come over, I'll candle your ears, then you can talk all the shit you want, fuck. Do I show up to your job and slap the dick outta your mouth?
Studies have also been done that "prove" parabens present in breast cancer tissue, leading to a mass hysteria and reformulization of numerous skin care and food products, that study failed to mention a second study that proves the soap used to wash the clinicians hands had contaminated a breast tissue sample....point is, don't believe everything you read, guy.
